“HEAD/TAIL PLASMON” PRODUCED BY A GAUSSIAN EJECTION VELOCITY PULSE

نویسندگان

چکیده

We present an analytic model of a collimated ejection with “single pulse” Gaussian velocity. This flow produces dense “head” (the leading working surface) joined to the outflow source by “tail” lower velocity material. For times greater than duration pulse, this tail develops linear radial vs. position structure. “head/tail plasmon” structure is interesting for modelling astrophysical “bullets” their sources structures “Hubble law” dependencies. study case law constant and density history, compare these two cases, find that main effect different histories change mass stratification plasmon tail.

Left ventricular ejection time: a potential determinant of pulse wave velocity in young, healthy males.

OBJECTIVE Pulse wave velocity (PWV) is a classic marker of vascular stiffness. Recent studies showed that heart rate is an important determinant of PWV. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the role of myocardial function in determining PWV under resting conditions and under adrenergic stimulation. DESIGN AND METHODS Hemodynamic parameters were investigated under resting conditions in 10...

Bone Fractures Produced by High Velocity Impacts '

The effects of high velocity impact to the distal end of 122 human femurs were studied using one-quarter inch steel spheres as projectiles, with impact velocities from 500 to 1700 feet per second. In the lower velocity range, a "drill hole" fracture was produced with low energy expenditure, and the diameter of this type of fracture was increased as a function of increasing velocity. At the high...

Solitary Nanostructures Produced by Ultrashort Laser Pulse.

Laser-produced surface nanostructures show considerable promise for many applications while fundamental questions concerning the corresponding mechanisms of structuring are still debated. Here, we present a simple physical model describing those mechanisms happened in a thin metal film on dielectric substrate irradiated by a tightly focused ultrashort laser pulse. The main ingredients included ...

estimation of carotid artery pulse wave velocity by doppler ultrasonography

background: pulse wave velocity (pwv) is widely used for estimating the stiffness of an artery. v arious invasive and non-invasive methods have been developed to determine pwv over the years. in the present research , the non-invasive estimation of the pwv of large arteries was used as an index for arterial stiffness. methods: a dynamic model based on the navier-stokes equations coupled to elas...

Left ventricular ejection time, not heart rate, is an independent correlate of aortic pulse wave velocity.

Several studies showed a positive association between heart rate and pulse wave velocity, a sensitive marker of arterial stiffness. However, no study involving a large population has specifically addressed the dependence of pulse wave velocity on different components of the cardiac cycle. The aim of this study was to explore in subjects of different age the link between pulse wave velocity with...
